Mayhem are a band formed in Oslo in 1984 and are considered pioneers of Norwegian black metal. Their debut album "De Mysteriis Dom Sathanas" (1994) ranks among the most influential records in the genre.
The band's history is marked by extremes. Today the line-up includes founding bassist Necrobutcher, drummer Hellhammer and vocalist Attila Csihar.
