Moonspell

Moonspell is a Portuguese band founded in 1989 in Brandoa near Lisbon, regarded as a pioneer of gothic metal. Originally starting out as Morbid God, the Portuguese shaped their own atmospheric, darkly romantic take on the genre from the 1990s onward with albums like "Wolfheart" and "Irreligious", moving between gothic, doom and black metal.

Led by charismatic singer Fernando Ribeiro, the band remains one of the most influential names in dark metal to this day.
