Crucial Velocity Recruit Opeth Guitarist Fredrik Åkesson For „The Harvest“

Crucial Velocity have announced a new single. „The Harvest“ brings Opeth guitarist Fredrik Åkesson on board as a guest and serves as the third chapter in an ongoing trilogy, through which the band tells its music as one connected story.

Åkesson, Opeth’s guitarist since 2007 and previously a member of Arch Enemy among others, contributes a progressive, cinematic solo. Crucial Velocity call the track their most ambitious release yet.

The single builds on „Martyr’s Blood“, the album the classically trained metal musicians put out in early June 2026. Their style blends traditional heavy metal with progressive arrangements and a taste for the long narrative arc.
