Februus tighten the runtimes — „Construction of Conflict" lands in September
The Swedish progressive death metallers release their second album on 4 September via Transcending Obscurity Records. Opener „Genocide by Default" leads the way.
Eight songs, most of them under five minutes: for their second album, Februus have tightened things up. „Construction of Conflict" arrives on 4 September 2026 via Transcending Obscurity Records, following the debut „Surveillance Orgy".
The band has shared opener „Genocide by Default" as a first taste. A second track, „Measures of Escalation", surfaced back in June. Both point the same way: knotted death metal riffing, frequent shifts in tempo and mood, little standing still.
Februus hail from Sweden and sit at the technical, progressive edge of the style. For the new material the label name-checks Edge of Sanity, Demilich and Pan.Thy.Monium — Swedish and Finnish death metal oddballs who never treated melody and dissonance as opposites.
