The Obsessed have a new home: the American doom metal veterans around singer and guitarist Scott „Wino" Weinrich have signed a worldwide deal with Heavy Psych Sounds Records.
A new studio album is set to arrive via the label in 2027 — the follow-up to 2024's „Gilded Sorrow". In a first reaction, Weinrich said he was delighted with the partnership and teased „a few surprises".
With their heavy, blues-soaked sound, The Obsessed rank among the most influential acts of American doom and stoner rock. Their roots reach back to the late 1970s, interrupted by several breakups and reunions.
Details on the title, tracklist and release date of the new album are still to come.
