Down

Down is an American sludge and Southern metal band formed in New Orleans in 1991 — originally a side project of well-known musicians from the scene, but long since an institution in its own right.

Their debut "NOLA" (1995) is regarded as a landmark of Southern sludge; the blend of doom riffs, Southern rock and groove made the band a live force. The line-up features singer Philip H. Anselmo (Pantera), guitarists Pepper Keenan (Corrosion Of Conformity) and Kirk Windstein (Crowbar), drummer Jimmy Bower (Eyehategod) and bassist Pat Bruders.
