Sigh is a Japanese metal band formed in Tokyo in 1989 around founder, vocalist and keyboardist Mirai Kawashima. The group is among the pioneers of avant-garde black metal, fusing extreme metal with orchestral arrangements, jazz, psychedelia, classical music and traditional Japanese instrumentation.
Sigh's debut „Scorn Defeat" was released in 1993 on Euronymous' Deathlike Silence Productions. Across more than a dozen albums the band has continually widened its sound and is regarded internationally as one of the most singular voices in Japanese metal.
