Sigh Announce New Album „Goh-ka" With Mikael Åkerfeldt
Sigh announce their new album Goh-ka for September 4, 2026, featuring guests Mikael Åkerfeldt of Opeth and Kreator bassist Frédéric Leclercq.

Sigh have lined up some serious guests for their new album. „Goh-ka", out September 4, 2026 via Peaceville Records, brings in several well-known names.
For the eleven tracks, bandleader Mirai Kawashima recruited Opeth singer and guitarist Mikael Åkerfeldt, who contributes a guitar solo. Kreator bassist Frédéric Leclercq handles bass, with Mike Heller on drums.
Thematically, „Goh-ka" revolves around Kuso-zu, a Buddhist visual tradition depicting the decay of the human body in nine stages. The title is deliberately layered, pointing at once to infernal fire, apocalyptic destruction and karma. Musically, Sigh again fuse extreme metal with classical music, psychedelia, horror soundtracks and traditional Japanese instrumentation.
The Japanese avant-garde metal band is already on the road, with summer festival stops including In Flammen Open Air in Torgau, Germany, and Metal Magic in Fredericia, Denmark.
