Tarja Turunen is a Finnish singer known as a classically trained soprano and the former voice of Nightwish. After leaving Nightwish in 2005 she launched a solo career that blends classical singing with symphonic metal.

Her solo work — from „My Winter Storm" (2007) to her most recent releases — pairs orchestral force with a classical timbre. Turunen performs live with rotating ensembles and tours Europe and South America regularly. Her current album „Frisson Noir" arrived in 2026.
