The Black Dahlia Murder is a melodic death metal band formed in Michigan in 2001, ranking among the most influential names in modern US death metal thanks to their blend of blistering heaviness, melodic leads and morbid lyricism.
Their third album "Nocturnal" (2007) is still regarded as a genre milestone. After the death of co-founder and vocalist Trevor Strnad in 2022, founding guitarist Brian Eschbach carried the band forward as its new singer; the line-up is now bolstered by guitarist Wes Hauch.
