coldrain have announced their eighth studio album. „OPTIMIZE = OPTDEMISE" arrives on 25 September 2026 via Century Media Records. Alongside the announcement, the Japanese band from Nagoya unveiled the first single „Ex-Humanity" and its music video.
The record spans twelve songs. Beside frontman Masato, there are guests: Bert McCracken of The Used features on „Poison", while Kenta Koie sings on „Savior". Musically the band sticks to the blend of metalcore heaviness and melodic post-hardcore that has earned them a following well beyond Japan.

coldrain stay busy into the end of the year. A Japan tour is set for October through December 2026, and in September the band supports Electric Callboy in Australia.
