Exumer break a seven-year silence — „Death Mask Messiah" lands in August
The Frankfurt thrash veterans release their sixth album on 28 August via Metal Blade. The title track is already out as a video.
Exumer had been quiet for seven years. Now there is a date: Death Mask Messiah, the Frankfurt band's sixth studio album, arrives on 28 August 2026 via Metal Blade Records.
The record holds eleven songs, with the title track already out as a video. Vocalist Mem V. Stein sums it up himself — more aggressive and more direct than 2019's Hostile Defiance, a return to an in-your-face style. The current line-up: Mem V. Stein on vocals, Ray Mensh and Marc B. on guitars, Alex Voss on bass and Jerome Reil on drums.
Exumer belong to the first wave of German thrash. Their 1986 debut Possessed by Fire remains a genre classic, even though the band was only sporadically active for long stretches afterwards. Death Mask Messiah is their fourth album for Metal Blade.
