Fen send „Massif" ahead — new album „Elemental Part One: Mourning Earth" due in August
The East Anglian post-black metal band unveils the next advance single from their eighth album, out 21 August via Prophecy Productions.
Out of the mists over the East Anglian marshes: Fen have shared „Massif", the next single from their forthcoming album. „Elemental Part One: Mourning Earth" arrives on 21 August 2026 via Prophecy Productions and is the trio's eighth studio record.
The album is conceived as the first half of a two-part work. Bandleader Frank „The Watcher" Allain describes „Massif" as a dynamic, sweeping piece that lays bare the band's roots in English black metal while slowly loosening its grip on sheer heaviness. A first single, „Tectonic", appeared with a video back in May.
Fen have been going since 2006. Their sound ties the specifically English strain of black metal to atmospheric, post-rock-adjacent passages; the lyrics turn on landscape, memory and loss — the fens themselves, the marshlands of eastern England, are mood more than backdrop.
