Heathen Cover Iron Maiden – The Prisoner for the 50th Anniversary
For Iron Maiden's 50th anniversary, Bay Area thrashers Heathen re-record the classic The Prisoner – complete with a video via Napalm Records.
Iron Maiden turn 50 in 2026 – and some of the tributes come from within the metal world itself. California thrash band Heathen have re-recorded Maiden's „The Prisoner" for the occasion and put out a video for it.
The track comes from the 1982 landmark „The Number of the Beast". Heathen, a fixture of Bay Area thrash since the 1980s, stay close to the original while sharpening the tempo and guitars in their own style.
The recording is released via Napalm Records. For Heathen it is the first new sign of life since the 2020 album „Empire of the Blind".
