Iron Maiden Will Skip Their Hall of Fame Gala — Blaze Bayley Wants to Be There
On 14 November Iron Maiden will be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame — but their Australian tour keeps them away. Former singer Blaze Bayley is now trying to make it to Los Angeles himself.

It is an induction with an odd twist: on 14 November Iron Maiden will be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame at the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles — but the current line-up will not be there. At that point the band is in the middle of its Australian tour; the ceremony date falls exactly between shows in Melbourne and Sydney. Manager Rod Smallwood made clear that the fans come first and the concerts will go ahead as planned.
The honour extends beyond the current members to former ones — among them ex-singer Blaze Bayley, who fronted the band from 1994 to 1999 and appears on "The X Factor" and "Virtual XI". And Bayley would very much like to attend: speaking to the Denim And Leather podcast, he explained that he has some free days in November and is currently trying to work it out so he can get to the ceremony — though nothing is certain yet.
Elsewhere, Bayley was visibly moved by the induction itself: nobody gets into heavy metal for the awards, he said, but recognition is nice — and being mentioned in the same breath as giants like Led Zeppelin is simply incredible. Alongside him, the late former singer Paul Di'Anno, ex-guitarist Dennis Stratton and drummers Nicko McBrain and Clive Burr are also being honoured.
The ceremony will be broadcast on US television and streaming in December.
