Melissa Auf der Maur Announces First New Music in 16 Years
Former Hole bassist Melissa Auf der Maur announces „Bass Womb Room" – unreleased ’90s demos and new field recordings. The lead single is „Skip a Beat".
Melissa Auf der Maur is back with new music – her first in around 16 years. The Canadian bassist, who played with Hole in the 1990s and later with The Smashing Pumpkins, has announced the project „Bass Womb Room – My ’90s 4-Track Demos X Field Recordings".
The collection pairs previously unreleased 4-track demos from her years in those major alternative rock bands with new field recordings. Auf der Maur describes them as the quiet, private recordings of that era. The release accompanies an exhibition of her own photography from the ’90s.
Her last solo album, „Out Of Our Minds", came out in 2010. Since then she has co-run Basilica Hudson, an arts centre in New York State. The lead single from „Bass Womb Room" is „Skip a Beat".
"Bass Womb Room – My '90s 4-Track Demos X Field Recordings" gathers previously unreleased 4-track demos from the 1990s alongside new field recordings by Melissa Auf der Maur.
