Queen Back on Stage? Roger Taylor Puts the Decision on Brian May
The drummer would play tomorrow. Whether it happens, he says on BBC radio, is not down to him — it is down to the guitarist.

Roger Taylor is up for it. Asked on BBC Radio 2's "Rock Show" whether Queen might return to the stage in the foreseeable future, the 76-year-old started dryly: getting a machine like that up and running is a job in itself. Then he was clearer — he loves playing live, always has. The decision, though, rests less with him than with Brian May. If they both wanted it, he would be there. We'll see, he said; never say never.
Little currently points to May. The guitarist, now 78, told the Daily Mail in January that America is a dangerous place at the moment and that this has to be taken into account — effectively leaving a US return somewhere between open and off. When Queen might play again, he said, he does not know; they take it day by day.
Singer Adam Lambert, on the road with May and Taylor since 2012, was asked the same thing a few weeks ago. His answer was short: nothing is on the books. Taylor praised him anyway — Lambert, he said, has the most incredible voice.
One glimmer for fans: May hinted to the Daily Mail that new Queen music is not out of the question. It had been time for a break, he said, for family, for taking stock.
