Static Abyss announce third album „The Dying Hunt“
The project of Autopsy mainman Chris Reifert returns on August 28 – the title track is already streaming.
Chris Reifert, drummer and vocalist of Autopsy, has another album ready with Static Abyss. „The Dying Hunt“ is out on August 28, 2026 via Peaceville Records and is the duo’s third record.
Reifert runs Static Abyss together with Greg Wilkinson. The sound stays with raw, old-school death metal tilted toward death-doom, the kind Reifert has favored since the early Autopsy days. The band put the title track online ahead of release.
After „Labyrinth of Veins“ (2022), it is the next step for a project that deliberately sounds dirty and direct. Further details on the tracklist are still to come.
