SUBMASQ announce „Spirit Animal" — with Bumblefoot guesting
The Israeli progressive band, formerly Subterranean Masquerade, release their seventh album on 18 September via Willowtip. The single „Monuments" is out ahead of it.
Subterranean Masquerade have become SUBMASQ — a shorter name, the music as layered as ever. Their seventh album „Spirit Animal" arrives on 18 September 2026 via Willowtip Records.
The Israelis fold intricate progressive structures together with alternative rock, grunge and ethnic instrumentation. It was recorded in Tel Aviv and Sweden; guitarist Ron „Bumblefoot" Thal features on the opening track. Lyrically it deals with trauma, addiction and the search for identity.
The band put out the single „Monuments" ahead of the album, with a video. A European tour with Rhapsody of Fire is set for January 2027.
