Birmingham to hold first „Ozzy Day" on July 22, 2026
On July 22, 2026, Birmingham holds its first „Ozzy Day" – a free program of live music, public art and tributes honoring Ozzy Osbourne.

A year after Ozzy Osbourne's death, his home city is holding a day in his honor. On Wednesday, July 22, 2026, Birmingham marks its first „Ozzy Day" – a free program in the city centre with live music, public art and special performances. The date falls on the first anniversary of his passing.
Ozzy Osbourne was the singer and co-founder of Black Sabbath and grew up in Birmingham. With Black Sabbath he helped shape heavy metal from 1968 onward, later building a long solo career as the „Prince of Darkness". On July 5, 2025, he took the stage one last time at Black Sabbath's farewell concert at Villa Park; he died on July 22, 2025.
„Ozzy Day" honors his roots and his role in Birmingham's musical history. Existing tributes already include his star on the Birmingham Walk of Stars and the „Ozzy the Bull" sculpture at New Street station. Organizers say they will reveal further details of the program shortly before the date.
