Slipknot Working On New Album — Producer Matt Wallace On Board
Slipknot are recording their new album with producer Matt Wallace. Jim Root talks of some 50 arrangements — the follow-up to The End, So Far.

Slipknot are working on new material — and have brought in a high-profile producer to do it. In an interview on the „Ride Bynd" podcast, guitarist Jim Root revealed the band is recording with Matt Wallace, best known for his work with Faith No More.
Root spoke of an unusually large amount of material: „probably at least 50" arrangements are said to be in various stages. Even he is surprised by the sound, he said — it resembles nothing he has heard before.
The guitarist ruled out riding the current nu-metal revival. Fans will not get a straight „nu-metal record" from Slipknot, he said. It would be the follow-up to 2022's „The End, So Far" and the band's first studio album since the 25th anniversary of their self-titled debut.
There is no title or release date yet — 50 ideas, after all, do not make a finished album. So far only the producer is confirmed, along with Root's enthusiasm.
