A window into the earliest days of a landmark career: the compilation „David Bowie – The Shel Talmy Recordings" arrives on September 18, 2026 via Parlophone, gathering the artist's earliest recordings from 1965 — made when he was still performing as Davie Jones.

The CD edition holds 22 tracks, ten of them previously unreleased; the vinyl version collects eleven tracks with six premieres. The first taster is „I Want Your Love", recorded with Davie Jones & The Lower Third. The sessions were produced by Shel Talmy, who had already shaped the sound of The Who and The Kinks; they were cut at London's IBC Studios, with Glyn Johns engineering.

Talmy, who died in 2024, believed in Bowie's talent early on. He later reflected that they were simply a few years ahead of the market with these recordings, which failed to chart at the time — and which now, six decades on, become fully available for the first time.
