Metallica at the Sphere – Las Vegas Residency 2026

Metallica will play a run of shows at the Sphere in Las Vegas in autumn 2026. The band takes on the spectacular LED dome that has previously hosted residencies by U2 and the Eagles — a new kind of setting for the world's biggest metal band.

Several dates are scheduled from October 1, 2026 onward. The Sphere's wraparound interior and its ultra-high-resolution LED screen rank among the most elaborate concert environments anywhere, and should cast Metallica's already image-heavy stage show in a very different light.

Metallica — James Hetfield, Lars Ulrich, Kirk Hammett and Robert Trujillo — have most recently been touring stadiums on their “M72” run. The Sphere shows offer a deliberate counterpoint: a single, fixed venue built for spectacle.
